Medical Crew

The number of the MEDICAL DISTRESS-HOTLINE is listed – among other places – on all course maps and the rear of the start number which competitors are issued by the the race organizers upon registration. If, for whatever reason, the MEDICAL DISTRESS-HOTLINE was not to answer your call, racers are advised to dial – without undue delay – the general emergency number (EMERGENCY CALL NUMBER Europe wide: 112).

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF EMERGENCY?

  • Stay calm
  • Call the MEDICAL DISTRESS-HOTLINE: +49 8324 933 550 - save this number in your cell phone! If this number is busy or unavailable due to reception problems, dial the official European emergency number 112. The contact person for queries from the control center, etc., is then your own phone number and, when passing on information, of course also the ALPINE MEDICS hotline or the organizer's number.
  • Provide your exact location (see grid system in the trail book), your start number, and a callback number.
  • Do not leave the location unless there is imminent danger. If it is necessary to change location, ALPINE MEDICS must be informed again to ensure that the participant can be found.
  • If a participant is unable to make the emergency call themselves, they should actively approach other participants and ask for help (make an emergency call, alternatively inform the marshals or aid station).
  • Once the situation has been clarified by the ALPINE MEDICS operations manager or their deputy, the necessary assistance will be initiated and coordinated without delay.
  • Special regulations apply to minor injuries.
  • Every runner is obliged to provide first aid and assistance to an injured participant if necessary until medical personnel arrive.
