REAL STUBAI - Autumn Highlights - Cattle Drive in Milders

As summer on the alpine pastures draws to a close, one of the most beautiful times of the year begins in the Stubai Valley: the Almabtrieb. Especially atmospheric is the Almabtrieb in Neustift – district of Milders, where the festively decorated cows return from the idyllic Oberbergtal to the valley on September 26, 2026. Accompanied by traditional music and numerous onlookers, this day is a real highlight for both guests and locals alike.

The drive of the cows from Oberbergtal to Milders is more than just a seasonal change – it is a living symbol of the close connection between humans, animals, and nature in the Stubai Valley. The cows are adorned with flowers, branches, and colorful ribbons – a visible sign of gratitude for an accident-free summer on the alpine pastures. On their way into the valley, they pass impressive landscapes until they finally arrive in Milders, a district of Neustift in the Stubai Valley. There, they are welcomed – and of course, the visitors too – with a festive atmosphere.

After the Almabtrieb, the festival truly begins: The Brollerhof in Milders invites you to the traditional Hoffest. In a rustic atmosphere, there is plenty of celebrating, laughing, and enjoying. The program includes live music, Schuhplattler, and many culinary delights. Whether Kiachl, homemade cakes, or Stubaier Krapfen, there is something for everyone's taste here.
