Program: Modern Voces ǀ Vocal Ensemble ProSono
With “Modern Voces,” the vocal ensemble ProSono, founded in 2024, presents musical treasures of our time. The performed literature ranges from partly 8-voiced sacred works of the avant-garde to demanding highlights of modern vocal ensemble literature, which have gained high recognition and popularity through ensembles such as “VOCES8” or “The King’s Singers.”

In January 2024, the Vocal Ensemble ProSono was newly founded. Under the experienced and proven choir director Jakob Seiwald, selected literature for vocal ensemble will be performed in appealing and high-caliber concerts. The range extends from early music of the Renaissance and Baroque periods to modern times and avant-garde styles. The beauty of the balanced ensemble sound and the extensive possibilities of highly demanding literature are the focus during the preparation and performances.

Jakob Seiwald studied choral and ensemble conducting at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium, concert harp, and singing at the Mozarteum in Salzburg/Innsbruck. The young conductor/choir director/music director successfully completed his last studies in January 2024 and has been active for several years as a musician and musical director in both the domestic and international art scene.

Seiwald’s musical roots are partly found with the Wiltener Sängerknaben, where he sang as a boy (later as a male voice) for 14 years as a soloist and gained extensive stage and opera experience in Europe and also Asia. In addition to his instrumental training at the music school in concert harp and organ, Jakob Seiwald conducted his first choir at the age of 17. He built this choir into a remarkable sound body over more than 7 years of motivated musical work. In the meantime, Seiwald directed 3 choirs for years and founded the orchestra “Camerata Musica Innsbruck” at the end of 2021, with which he has already successfully performed several times in Austria.

The Tyrolean has been very active as an assistant conductor with the University Orchestra of Innsbruck (symphonic orchestra) at the Leopold Franzens University since 2020. Furthermore, he has been leading the wind orchestra of the city music Landeck-Perjen since 2022 and, since the beginning of 2024, he has also led the wind orchestra of the music band Matrei am Brenner.

With the re-establishment of the Vocal Ensemble ProSono, Seiwald is taking new paths with very good singers and partly professional singers. Jakob Seiwald also gives recitals and works as a concert harpist and singer. Thus, he is also in high demand as a speaker at various seminars, guest conductor, and conductor.

Since 2026, Jakob Seiwald has also been the artistic director of the Ischler Symphoniker.
