Ready for take-off: The world’s freeski elite kicks off the Olympic season at the Stubai Glacier

FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai – first World Cup of the winter, November 19–22, 2025

Winter is off to a spectacular start as the Stubai Glacier becomes the meeting point for the world’s freeski elite. Expect adrenaline, action, and world-class competition at an altitude over 3,000 meters. As the first World Cup event of the 2025/26 Olympic season, the FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai marks its official start – setting the stage for spectacular tricks, big names, and new heroes. With international stars such as Eileen Gu (CHN), Mathilde Gremaud (SUI) and Birk Ruud (NOR), as well as Austria’s top riders Lara Wolf and Matej Svancer, the Stubai Zoo will once again become the centre of the freeski world.
90 athletes from 23 nations will battle for valuable Slopestyle World Cup points, prestige, and coveted Olympic qualification spots. The grand finale will be broadcast live on the World Feed from 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

World-class freeski action: The global elite take over Stubai
When the first World Cup of the season calls, the world’s top freeskiers answer.
The top contenders include Mathilde Gremaud (SUI), the 2022 Olympic Slopestyle Champion and 2023 Stubai winner, as well as Colby Stevenson (USA), last year’s champion, who is returning in 2025 to defend his title.
The women’s field promises top-level duels: Eileen Gu (CHN), the 2022 Olympic Champion in both Big Air and Halfpipe, and a global freeski icon, will face off against Gremaud, Canada’s Megan Oldham, and Britain’s Kirsty Muir – all pushing the sport to new heights.
In the men’s competition, Birk Ruud (NOR), Andri Ragettli (SUI), Alex Hall (USA) and Jesper Tjäder (SWE) will turn the Stubai Snowpark into a showcase of innovation and progression, making it a veritable international freeski festival.
It's a special event for Team Austria: Lara Wolf, the Tyrol native who has secured an Olympic quota spot, is leading the charge. After making a strong comeback last winter, she’s back among the world’s best and eager to perform on home snow. Also spearheading Austria’s campaign is Matej Svancer, the creative crowd favorite from Salzburg and the current overall World Cup champion, who has already reached multiple finals in Stubai.
Lukas Müllauer, Hannes Rudigier, Julius Forer and debutant Benjamin Lengger complete the strong Austrian line-up.

Pure freestyle action – live on TV
With a line-up of world-class athletes, a perfectly shaped snow park, and peak preparation, the FIS Freeski World Cup Stubai promises to be a true celebration of freestyle sports. Perfect conditions at Snowpark Stubai Zoo
Since 2017, the Snowpark Stubai Zoo, located over 3,000 meters above sea level, has been one of Europe’s most popular and progressive parks. Early snowfall allowed the season to start on October 3. Each year, the experienced shaping team prepares a world-class setup with perfectly tuned kickers and rails. It's no surprise that the Stubai Glacier is a fixture in the freeskiing calendar and will host the FIS Freeski World Cup for the ninth consecutive time in 2025.
